Oh yeah, it feels good to be 16. I’m all old, manly and cool. Well, old and manly. Well, old. But the point remains, I’m 16 and it rocks. I’m also sick and can hardly speak, but I comfort myself with the knowledge that I’m now one of those guys that I used to look up to and say “Wow, I wanna be like him! Older and responsible. He has HIS OWN fish and a phone!”.

Speaking about things that are mine, I have the coolest birthday pressie ever. My new Wacom Bamboo pressure-sensitive tablet is amazing. The cartoon above was drawn by me, on Photoshop! It’s so freaking cool! I haven’t used a mouse since. Buy one!

Ethan bought me a professional dartboard so we can play. I haven’t played properly before, but it’ll be a cool skill to have when I get a bit better. Sam got me a cool leather wrist band and two surfesque necklaces. They’re pretty cool. Hannah painted me some awesome paintings. The Superman logo, the Batman logo and some other indescribable thing, it’s pretty cool. Photos shall be uploaded soon.

I’ve also recieved a drum kit which is just amazing, but I doubt I’ll be getting any presents again until I’m 18. It’s a red Yamaha Stage Custom and it just sounds so good. My new drum teacher (he’s my sixth!), Nobby, has taught me how to tune the drums, another cool way to set up the kit and a couple of beats.

Last night Mum, Dad, Hannah, Ethan, Sam and I all went out for dinner at Frankie and Benny’s, then had a couple of games at the bowling alley. I won the first, but absolutely lost the second. This weekend I’m having a party (PARTY party, not dinner party) with some friends of mine. Leah’s birthday is on the sixth so we’re having a joint party. It’ll be cool.

I’ll stick a blog post up about it on Sunday. Until then…

Last Thursday I was home sick. I did go to school, but I only lasted half of lesson one, then vomited. I did make it to a toilet, but that didn’t really make it any more pleasant. I’m guessing it was just a stomach bug, because I was fine the next day.

While I was in bed (all day) I called my dad and asked him to bring me home a Clive Barker book. He bought me ‘The Damnation Game’ and ‘A Brief History Of Time’ which I had been talking about earlier that week, mostly referring to a show by Ross Noble. I was wondering if it was really as hard to read as he made it sound. It isn’t.

I’m about 60 pages through, and although ‘A Brief History Of Time’ makes me read slower than I usually do, I still understand most of what is being said. I found light cones especially interesting. It makes light speed a lot easier to understand. Yayness.

Recently, we moved house. Or, moved into a house. We used to live in a two bedroom apartment. We now live in a two storey house. Pretty good going in my books.

As I need a drum kit, I have the largest bedroom, which is awesome. It’s in a bit of a shambles at the moment, but I’m slowly tidying it all. My favourite bit of it so far is the IKEA sofa bed.

During the move, I rediscovered all of my LEGO, including my BIONICLE stuff as well. I prefer BIONICLE, because you can make more than a house, car, or a super-duper-crazy-laser-blaster. It has a storyline, with goodies and baddies. Also, some of them have blades for arms (see below).

Vahki Keerakh

Ethan came over on Saturday or Sunday and stayed a few nights, we were playing around with the BIONICLE stuff. It’s really evil because it makes you uber-obsessive over trying to get that last cog in the right place.

While Ethan was here my mum took us go-karting. That was really cool. We were racing with some other people, but they weren’t that great so that was ok. Although, neither were we. At one point I spun out whilst Ethan was trying to overtake me. He ended up hitting me hard in the side and we both had to wait to be pushed back into the track. That gave me a dead leg so I ended up driving around with no brakes for a bit.

All in all these past few weeks have been pretty cool.

Last Friday at school we got Tetanus and MMR injections. Although it gots us out of most of a lesson, everyone at school was terrified. Personally, I can’t see why. A stranger is going to come into school, ask you to take off your shirt in front of all of year 10, then proceed to inject you with a deadly virus. And in return we get to miss an hour with our form tutor. Sounds pretty sweet to me.

Another plus side of the injections was that we had basketball afterwards, and we got to sit out. It was just my form that had the injections that morning, so we got to sit out, but without the other people who are annoying. Hurrah!

Ethan came over again and we’ve been watching movies and playing catch. We set up these arm chairs we have in front of the computer desk. We have the radiator behind us for warmth, the dining chairs are further forward and are used as foot rests. We have an actual foot rest, but that goes between us as a small table for biscuits and toasts. The only problem is that if one needs to go to the toilet, the other has to get up to press pause.

To solve this problem, Ethan and I made a long stick to aid in pausing movies. It is made out of two drumsticks, a baton (We made it last year with a rolled up second-hand metro and lots of insulation tape), 3 old shoelaces, 3 rubber bands and a hair tye.

Hurrah for lazyness!

I’ve been watching a lot of movies lately. I mean a lot. Since last Saturday I’ve seen:

Armageddon, Apocalypse Now, Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse, Blood Monkey, Braindead, Cube, Cube 2: Hypercube, Cube Zero, Dawn of the Dead (Original), Dawn of the Dead (Remake) and Jaws.

I have more to watch. As it has also been extremely cold, I have been going through thousands of cups of tea and a fair amount of hot water bottles. They make me happy.

As a few of my close friends may know, I like to invent things. Normally things that I’d never ever make, just the concept of the invention. Ethan and I have invented things like flaming bouncy balls, with a tiny magnet inside. We would use these with fire-proof, electromagnetic gloves so we could throw and retrieve them with ease.

Anyway, I have invented – and made – a suit for watching movies in the winter. It consists of two belts, an elasticly-attached torchy thing for caving, some oven gloves, a scarf and a hot water bottle. Awesome.

The belts tie the hot water bottle to my body, as does the elastic torch. The torch it also helpful for finding biscuits and blinding people in pillow fights. The oven gloves go between me and the bottle, preventing over-heating and also provides stylish and practical pockets. The scarf goes around my neck, crosses at the front and is held by the elastic at the back. this can also be folded up to warm the ears as well.

Also, may I just say, I was wearing 2 pairs of trousers, 2 pairs of socks and 3 shirts. That is one of the many reasons I look strange in that photo. Oh, and I have no idea where I got those stovepipes I’m wearing. They are very comfy though.

Can anyone let me know about any good movies I shouid watch please? Thanks.
